This 2" coin was produced to honor the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Belleau Wood. The Marines were given the nickname "Teufel Hunden" by the German soldiers, which means "Devil Dog".
Each numbered coin comes in a hard plastic case.åÊ The front features three languages:
1. "Bois de la Brigade de Marine", in French which means "Forest of the Marine Brigade".
2. "Belleau Wood", the name of the forest in English.
3. "Teufel Hunden", which means "Devil Dog" in German.
The front image is the "Devil Dog" Fountain, which is located in the town, just north of the cemetery.
The back features the WWI EGA and number of the coin in the bottom center of the wreath.
These orders begin with coin #151. Coins #2-150 will be available at the ceremony in France on May 25th, 2018. If you want a certain number coin 151-1000, note it in the comments. If we don't have the number you want, coins will be sent out in numerical order.
